You are far more likely to resent your new eating habits if you call them “dieting” than if you call them “making healthier choices” or “eating organically.” Use positive words and action based sentences to describe your new healthy habits instead of words that have negative feelings associated with them. This will help you when you try to explain your new habits to people who are questioning your methods or the changes that you have been making lately.

Find a distraction when you are exercising. Listen to some music or position your treadmill in front of a television set. If you ride a stationary bicycle, try reading a book. When you distract yourself you don’t have to focus so heavily on how hard the work your body is doing is. It is easier to stick with your workouts if you have something else handy to occupy your mind. Distractions can also help save you from boredom. It is harder to see results from working out if you get bored during the routine and start to slack off to make it go faster.
